The entry into force of the Convention on Cluster Munitions

Albania welcomes today the entry into force of the Convention on Cluster Munitions. From this day, cluster bombs are banned forever and this convention will make a real difference to people's lives. In this occasion, the NGO Alb-AID organized a march at the main boulevard in Tirana while beating the drum and celebrating. Campaigners, CM survivors and officials joined the march. Ambassador John L. Withers' visit at the Kukes Regional Hospital

The U.S Ambassador H.E John L. Withers visited Kukes Regional Hospital on July 23 2010. The purpose of the visit was to witness the developments and see the medical equipment of the Physiotherapy Unit, the Prosthetic Workshop and the radiology ward established by AMAP with funding by US Department of State through International Trust Fund, Slovenia.

The Delegation of the European Union to Albania, in collaboration with UNDP Albania and supported by the Albanian Mine Action Executive (AMAE), organized on 8 July 2010 the EU Mine Action Visibility Day.
