The Fourth Portfolio Workshop for the Albania Mine Action Programme |
| July 25, 2007 |
|
On July 25, 2007 the fourth Portfolio Workshop of the Albanian Mine Action Programme was held at the AMAE office in Tirana. The Mine Action Portfolio is a booklet published worldwide on a yearly basis as a comprehensive package of mine-action projects requesting funding in mine-affected countries and assisting donors and partners in resource allocation. Representatives from national and local authorities, nongovernmental organizations, the United Nations, and the business community were invited to participate in the Mine Action Portfolio Country Team (MAP CT) to jointly review the National Mine Action Strategy and to submit Mine Action project proposals for possible funding. The Albanian Mine Action Strategy was updated during this meeting, building on its integrated approach with local development initiatives already in progress by national and international actors.
Thirteen submissions covering all Mine Action components were proposed during the meeting and twelve of these were agreed upon and submitted to the Portfolio team for funding possibilities.
